If you're considering whether this work might be relevant, the questions below may help clarify things.
These questions cover the most common things people want to understand before getting in touch. If something isn't answered here, please feel free to ask directly.
This work tends to suit people who have already tried several approaches and found that things have improved but not fully resolved. If you're looking for a one-off session or prefer a purely symptom-focused approach, this is probably not the right fit. An initial conversation can help clarify whether it is appropriate for your situation.
This varies depending on the situation. Some people do a single intensive day; others work in a container over six to twelve weeks. The structure is agreed following an initial conversation, based on what seems most appropriate for your circumstances.
Yes. A significant part of this work, particularly the integration and follow-up, can be done effectively by video. I work with clients in person in Somerset and London, and remotely where continuity is more important than location. If you're based outside the UK, please do still get in touch.
The approach draws on osteopathic training and an understanding of how the body, nervous system and lived experience interact, but it is not conventional osteopathy, and it is not therapy in the traditional sense. The focus is on understanding what is maintaining a pattern that hasn't resolved, and working through it in an integrated way. It doesn't fit neatly into existing categories, which is often why it's useful for people who have found that existing categories haven't fully helped.
I work in Somerset and London. Intensives can be arranged in Somerset, including at The Newt, for clients who prefer a more private, retreat-style setting. I also work with clients internationally by video.
If, following a conversation, it becomes clear that another route would be more appropriate, that will be discussed honestly. The aim is always progress, whether that is through this work or through being guided towards the right next step. This is not the right approach for everyone, and that is understood from the outset.
Yes, completely. All enquiries and conversations are treated with full discretion. Nothing is shared without your knowledge or consent.
The most useful first step is a conversation. There is no expectation that you arrive with everything clear or prepared. The purpose of the initial conversation is simply to understand your situation and assess whether this approach is likely to be useful.
